Assembly
The highest body of the PIARC National Committee of Slovenia is the Assembly, in which each member, representing his/her organisation or institution, has one vote. It meets once a year or if requested by one-quarter of National Committee members.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee represents and manages the National Committee. It consists of a chairman, a vice-chairman and nine members. A member of the Executive Committee is ex officio the first delegate of the Republic of Slovenia in the World Road Association PIARC.
The chairman of the National Committee ia also the chairman of the Executive Committee and its mandator. The chairman ensures appropriate representation of all NC members in the compostition of the Executive Committee. The chairman of the Executive Committee also proposes one of its members as vice-chairman. Executive Committee members have 4-year mandates. At the end of their mandates, members may be re-elected.
Technical Committees
Professional work takes place in
Technical Committees, where the organisation on the national level is
designed in the same way as in the parent organisation PIARC. A current work
programme covering the following strategic themes was adopted for the
2012-2015 period:
- Management and Performance
The theme covers: Performance of Transport Administrations, Financing, Climate Change and Sustainability, Road Transport
System Economics and Social Development, Risk Management.
- Access and Mobility
The theme covers: Road Network Operations, Improved Mobility in Urban Areas, Freight Transport, Winter Service,
Rural Road Systems and Accessibility to Rural Areas.
- Safety
The theme covers: National Road Safety Policies and Programs, Design and Operations of Safer Road Infrastructure,
Road Tunnel Operations.
- Infrastructure
The theme covers: Management of Road Infrastructure Assets, Road Pavements (Road surface
characteristics, Flexible and semi-rigid pavements, Concrete pavements), Road Bridges, Earthworks and
Unpaved Roads.

Objectives and tasks of NC PIARC Slovenia
OBJECTIVES
- Promoting national interests in the World Road Association PIARC, with the intention of promoting its reputation and expanding its influence in Republic of Slovenia,
- Continuous improvement of the profession and facilitating exchange of knowledge in the field of roads and transport.
TASKS
- Appointment of national reporters at PIARC world congresses,
- Appointment of members of Technical Committees of PIARC,
- Organisation of national delegations to PIARC world congresses,
- Preparation of technical papers for the PIARC world congresses,
- Preparation of proposals and themes for discussion at PIARC worl congresses or within PIARC Technical Committees,
- Establishment of working groups and ensuring participation in the work of PIARC Technical Committees,
- Providign information to and obtaining information from PIARC relating to road activities,
- Providing better links among members and committees and the PIARC Executive Committee,
- Initiatives to promote the work of PIARC,
- Co-operation with other institutions and associations in the areas of operation on both the international and national levels.
